Battery-Faced Wall Clocks

The Eco-Clock is Powered by Discarded AAs

The Eco-Clock is a wall clock designed to give dead batteries a new life. Chances are you’ve taken dead batteries out of your Game Boy or CD player and found that they still work well enough to power your TV’s remote control. The Eco-Clock works in the same way, using batteries that don’t have enough power to run gadgets on their own to collectively power the clock.

The Eco-Clock uses twelve batteries and is inherently customizable, as you can mix and match the colors and brands of the batteries you use. When a battery truly is out of juice, a red dot will light up next to it telling you that it’s time to swap it out. The Eco-Clock was a winner of the a 2011 Liteon Award.
