Eco-Chic Exhibitions

American Museum of Natural History's Green Dance

This year’s American Museum of Natural History dance had a new theme: eco-chic. Taking a cue from the institution’s new exhibition titled Climate Change: The Threat to Life and A New Energy Future, many measures were taken to ensure an eco-friendly evening. Organic and sustainable foods, environmentally-friendly products and energy-efficient techniques for production were used. More specifically, they used soy candles, cardboard set pieces and shrubbery that would be later re-used by the museum’s landscapers.

The event, which included a cocktail reception, dinner, dessert and dancing, was sponsored by Christian Dior, Stella McCartney, Judith Ripka and Starworks. The Chairpeople included such famous faces as Milla Jovovich and Tinsley Mortimer and throughout the evening guests placed bids in a silent auction featuring fabulous prizes such as tickets to a Stella McCartney fashion show in Paris October 2009.
