Audi A3 TDI Does Its Part to Save the Planet

The new 2010 hatchback Audi A3 will sport the new TDI clean diesel technology. The A3 was first seen at the Detroit Auto Show 2009, but Audi has released a TDI clean diesel vehicle before (the Q7).

TDI clean diesel is an eco-friendly technology that reduces harmful emissions without sacrificing performance. However, going green has a price--namely the cost of diesel fuel and the overall cost of the car, which goes up due to its 4-cylinder diesel engine.

Audi has said that the 140 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque A3 will get more than 40 miles per gallon of diesel, however, which softens the blow somewhat.

Audi is hoping that the 2010 A3 will become a hit in the U.S along with the clean diesel technology.
