The Easy Record Maker is the product of a collaboration between Japanese publishing and toy company Gakken and artist Yuri Suzuki who is known for her playful and vibrant soundscape installations.
The Easy Record Maker allows users to engrave their own records. The playful DIY machine is equipped with a recording stylus that can place music onto five-inch plastic discs. To get the process going, one needs to select a song to be engraved and then plug an iPhone, computer or audio player into the Easy Record Maker. When the stylus is placed down on the record, one is prompted to select a 33rpm or a 45rpm to start making the record.
The East Record Maker is designed to "help introduce vinyl records to a generation that has never experienced them."
