The E-Lyte from Whyte Bikes is Highly Adjustable for Optimal Riding

The E-Lyte is a new range of lightweight, mid-torque, full-power e-MTBs from Whyte Bikes, a British brand known for its innovative and award-winning mountain bikes. The E-Lyte features a carbon fibre frame with a composite seatstay and an aluminium linkage and chainstay. The frame also has a unique headset design that allows for both internal and external cable routing, as well as compatibility with mechanical shifting. In addition, the unique frame design of the E-Lyte enables precise customization of riding geometry, beyond simply adjusting the handlebar height and angle, or seat height.

The E-Lyte is powered by the Bosch Performance SX motor, which delivers 55 Nm of torque and 600 W of peak power. The motor is integrated into the downtube, along with a 400 Wh battery and a 250 Wh extender. The E-Lyte also has a top tube display that shows the battery level, speed, and assist mode.

The E-Lyte comes in two versions: the E-Lyte 140 and the E-Lyte 150. The E-Lyte 140 is a 29er bike (meaning it has 29-inch wheels) with 140 mm of front travel and 135 mm of rear travel, while the E-Lyte 150 is a 29er bike with 150 mm of front and rear travel. Both versions have three models: the Works, the RSX, and the S. The Works models are the most expensive and the lightest, with the E-Lyte 140 Works weighing only 16.4 kg and the E-Lyte 150 Works weighing 19.2 kg.

The Works models also have the highest-end components, such as the Fox Factory suspension, the Sram XX or X0 AXS wireless drivetrain, and the Goodyear or Maxxis tyres. The RSX models are the mid-range models, with the Rockshox Select+ suspension, the Sram GX AXS wireless drivetrain, and the Maxxis tyres. The S models are the entry-level models, with the Rockshox Select suspension, the Sram NX Eagle drivetrain, and the WTB tyres. The prices for the E-Lyte range from £7,999 to £10,999, depending on the model and the version. The E-Lyte is expected to be available in early 2024.
