The 'Dyson Institute of Technology' Will Accept 25 Students

Dyson, one of the most innovative industrial design and production companies in the world, is offering a new university program under the banner of the 'Dyson Institute of Technology.' The school, which is set to open in 2017, will offer a four-year university degree in engineering to 25 students each year.

James Dyson, the founder of Dyson, opted to create the Dyson Institute of Technology as a response to a lack of homegrown engineering talent in the company's home country of the UK. Having publicly criticized educators for that lack, Dyson instead decided to take matters into the company's own hands.

The Dyson Institute of Technology will be located on the Dyson headquarters in southwest England. The program will indeed offer an accredited degree, but that accreditation will come from the University of Warwick.
