ULLAC is a genderless denim label and it recently unveiled its 'DYING TO MEET YA' fashion short film directed alongside Vidsett, a creative studio based in East London. The video follows teens through a dark suburban setting, highlighting what it feels like to grow up in the environment. The idea stems from ULLAC's founders Chris and Kyle Lynd and their close friend Gavin Weigh, inspired by their upbringings in Northern England.
The trio explains that there is an annual festival in their small town that initiated frightening, yet fascinating feelings. "As it gets later into the evening the older, naughtier kids would turn up and hang around on the waltzer, smoke cigarettes [...] It really felt like we were about two minutes from actually being in a horror film," Chris Lynd explains. The fashion inspiration is drawn from the teens, described as they wore bold colors and shapes that represented Acid House and hip-hop culture. The DYING TO MEET YA film draws cinematic styles from suburban films that center around youth culture including 'The Virgin Suicides' and 'Heathers.'
