Delivery-Based Recycling Programs

Staple's Driver Take-Back Program Collects Electronics on Site

In addition to its in-store recycling initiatives, Staples Canada also offers a Driver Take-Back program that helps consumers get rid of old batteries, used electronics and empty ink cartridges. One of the reasons people do not recycle used electronics is because of the hassle of taking them to a store for disposal. This program allows consumers to get rid of old products as soon as they receive a replacement.

Staple's Driver Take-Back program is an initiative offered in select Canadian provinces. When the company delivers a new product to a customer, they will pick up older items such as batteries, electronics and ink cartridges. Drivers will generally accept three large units per delivery. For any bulky or additional items, Staples will send eCycle Solutions to pick up the remaining products.

The idea behind the programs it to encourage consumers to recycle more of their electronics by doing the work for them.
