British designer Sebastian Coxe has crafted an accompanying drinks trolley and tray in celebration of Glenlivet's Nàdurra Peated Whisky Cask Finish. The designer was inspired by traditional barrows used in distilleries that were used to turn and transport malt. In creating the unique weaved barrow, Cox used oak staves from retired casks.
Cox made a strong connection between the use of wood in the whiskey-making process. In researching the project, Cox immersed himself in the distillation process, and used Glenlivet's craftsmen as a research resource. The detailed drinks trolley is the perfect accompaniment to the premium whiskey, also reflecting the brand's history and aesthetic.
Apart from the drinks trolley, Cox also handcrafted a tray which was designed to house two whiskey glasses and a bottle of Glenlivet. The elegant trolley and tray will be displayed at The New Craftsmen in London for a limited time.
