Sicilian Seaside Springwear

The Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 Collection is Color-Centric

The Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 collection was a show of the design duo's Sicilian roots.

With a whirl of seaside couture and embroidery, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana stay true to their decidedly Italian roots. "We want to make clothes and hope that people like them but we are not striving to shape new trends," said Gabbana of the collection according to WWD. Their ethos came to life with their collection for Spring showcasing Sicily's cultural motifs.

With excessive prints, and a variety of dual-toned stripes the garments did not disappoint. Models walked down the runway sporting headscarves and ornate accessories to compliment the bold clothing of their seasonal offerings. Though the design duo received mixed reviews, their adherence to their Italian roots is highly commendable.
