UK-based design studio INK has found a quirky and comical way to combine dogs with WWII-era fighter planes in its 'Dogfighters' series. INK took qualities from both dogs and planes to create furry dog/plane hybrid sculptures that inject fighter planes with a whole lot of canine cuteness.
INK chose three breeds of dogs as its subjects for 'Dogfighters:' schnauzers, golden retrievers and beagles. Each dog's characteristics were transformed into a plane's defining features. The schnauzer's nose became a propeller, the beagle's paws became landing wheels and the golden retriever's shaggy coat yielded especially furry wings.
While these 'Dogfighters' may seem bizarre at first, upon closer inspection it's obvious that INK created them out of love for both canines and planes. While it might seem strange, the 'Dogfighters' series is a cute tribute to furry friends everywhere.
