Emily Soto's new editorial called 'Divided Perception' brings new meaning to the word "headdress."
Soto's photographs are sleek and soft, complementing model Stephanie Pearson of FORD, whose simple, yet elegant outfits are topped with elaborate headdresses. Divided Perception uses these headdresses as the focal point of each photograph, stretching far above Pearson's rather fierce visage.
Each headpiece is from a clear historical era. There's a feather headdress, making for a very haute couture Native American, as well as chainmail, giving way to a fashion-savvy Medieval knight.
The headdresses were produced by Maddox Leather Design, Miss G Designs, and Bebe, with the clothes coming from Topshop, All Saints, BCBG Max Azria and Mother of London.
This editorial proves that headdresses don't have to remain lost in history.
