Street Art Used in Canadian Youth Services Centre Ads

Graffiti is a popular art form to tell a story and raise awareness about a social issue. This art form is used in these new ads for Directions Youth Services Centre.

The center is operated by Family Services of Greater Vancouver and provides Vancouver's homeless youth and youth at risk with professional help and support to turn their life around for the better and get off the streets.

Rethink Communications, Vancouver came up with these powerful ads which communicate that "Every kid on the street has a story," by showing a homeless young person with a background of street art that tells his or her story.

The campaign explains that "Many of the homeless youth on our streets have escaped from homes filled with abuse and violence."

The ads show homeless youngsters who had to deal with homophobia, alcohol abuse, and sexual abuse.

The campaign is photographed by Lindsay Siu with art direction and illustration by Carson Ting and creative direction by Ian Grais and Chris Staples.

Great job from the whole creative team. Please support your local youth center and help these lost souls to a brighter future.
