Back in 2012, illustrator Wendy Fox made headlines for a series of drawings that showcases the different body types of female Olympians. Now she is working on a similar project for the women who take home gold in the 2016 Olympics.
Fox's ongoing project involves drawing a picture of each of the female athletes who win gold at the Olympics. The idea is that when the illustrations are placed side-by-side, the images will reveal range of diversity when it comes to athletic bodies. The idea for the project came about as a way to show that there are many different body types represented at the Olympics and not just the kind associated with highly publicized sports such as beach volleyball and gymnastics.
