D’houndt Bajart Architects have created an extension for the La Mediatheque Andree Chedid in France. The library is composed of three sections, with a leaning section that was added onto an old factory made from brick. The result is an interesting contrast between old architecture and the new.
More specifically, the building is used for a media library, which is accessed by the local community. The extension has hexagon shapes that are cut out onto the side, helping to let as much light in as possible. Considering this section does not have any traditional, rectangular windows, it's important to have these openings instead.
