The Detail Porteur Bicycle was inspired by Alex Hatfield’s excellent hand built porteur bicycle, and for good reason. It recently won best porteur at the Bespoke Bristol Handmade Bicycle Show this earlier this year. To mimic it, the Detail team took a vintage '70s Chrome Carlton and turned it into a stunning '50s-style porteur bike, with a contemporary twist. Beautifully minimalist, it features a sleek and shiny silver frame with sparse leather detailing.
Relying heavily on eBay, the Detail Porteur Bicycle is made up of premium auction items at a relatively affordable prices. These included copper riveted Brooks Swift seat and Kampool break pads. Granted, the team did splurge on the Velo Orange Porteur rack and Brooks saddle.
