The launch of this designer yogurt packaging was a clever move for the dairy market in America. While the probiotic-rich food is eaten and enjoyed by all sorts of people who have access to it, one of the major demographics is middle-aged women with interests in slim waistlines. Yoplait offers a range of specific products that target this group, using imagery, colors, naming and commercials that entice them. Now, the company has teamed up with Christopher Straub of Project Runway to do up a line of fashionable yogurt containers.
The fashion designer inverted the shape of the cups to better mimic the flaring form of a dress. The suggestions of frills, sequins, patchwork and embroidery are apparent within the graphic schemes of the six limited edition, bringing style that has gone on to influence the creation of Yoplait gowns.
