Robot Pool Sharks

Deep Green Mathematically Masters Billiards

Deep Green is a pool playing robot from Queens, New York. With a microchip on his shoulder and dreams no one can reprogram, this billiard ‘bot will take your money, find the square root of the winnings and then buy you a beer. I don’t know why I felt compelled to give this machine a rags-to-riches movie backstory, but there you go.

Anyway, Deep Green was designed at the RCVLab at Queen’s University and is programmed to mathematically find the best way to make a shot. As the video shows, the robot is definitely good at what it does.
