When the Indiana State Fair decided to ban trans-fats, the new buzzword to relieve "zero net carbs" of it's diet fad duties, it didn't stop the proliferation of deep-fried foods. If anything, food vendors got more creative. Fried Snickers bars and fried twinkies were only the tip of the iceberg. This year the hot item was deep-fried Pepsi.
They infused dough with Pepsi Cola and Pepsi syrup, deep fried it, and served it on a toothpick with Pepsi syrup drizzled over it and a flurry of confectionery sugar.
The sweet treat was a hit. The vendor was skewering dough balls at a rate of 3200 a day.
So the question remains... Will Deep Friend Pepsi surpass Deep Fried Coke?
