French sporting goods retailer Decathalon has announced the launch of its first-ever ski and outerwear rental service in the UK. The new service arrives thanks to Decathlon's new partnership with the popular rental platform, Hirestreet.
Now, Hirestreet customers will be able to rent Decathalon ski and outwear products for a four-day time period rather than buy them at full price. As a result, the new service offers Brits who are interested in skiing and hiking (but do not regularly partake in these activities) an affordable alternative to full-priced gear. The Decathlon collection being sold by Hirestreet includes 18 different lines of hiking and ski jackets and pants with sizes ranging from six to 16.
"It is another way in which we are making sport more accessible – through convenience, price point, and flexibility, all while reducing our impact on the planet," said Decathlon rental manager Sharon Poulter.
