The simple aesthetic of the Decafe Lamp is deceptive as there is nothing simple about this light fixture. Inspired by a cup of coffee, it is crafted out of recycled coffee grounds. It is even shaped like a coffee cup, although the colors are quirkily reversed. The unique bio-degradable material makes the Decafe Lamp incredibly environmentally friendly.
Conceived and created by Spanish designer Raúl Laurí, the Decafe Lamp recently won first place in Salone Satellite Awards during Milan Design Week 2012. Its eco-conscious properties coupled with its minimalist design were sure to win over any judging panel. A comforting and aromatic light fixture, the Decafe Lamp is switchless; it simply needs to be picked up and placed on its base to be turned on.
