A French startup is developing the world's first app that allows hard of hearing and deaf phone calls. Currently seeking finances through crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, RogerVoice does this by transcribing telephone conversations in real time so you can read what the other person is saying.
After working on this technology for a year, RogerVoice is running a Kickstarter campaign to finally launch the Android app, and later the iOS version. A third party transcription service is also involved, which allows the script to be read in a dozen of different languages on your smartphone. On the other end of the deaf phone call the recipient hears a regular conversation, meaning they don't have to install the app or get another person involved.
