Lighting design firm Davidpompa works in collaboration with restaurant Contramar to create a special exhibit as a part of the Mexico art work to explore the balance of traditional Mexican weaving and seafood preparation. Nestled in the Roma Norte neighborhood, the Woven Kitchen exhibition features the dishes along the a Cilia lighting capsule by the firm. The restaurant is headed by Gabriela Camara.
The founder of the studio David Pompa spoke to Dezeen, "We decided to do this collaboration since Contramar is the place where we spend most of our Saturdays – it's a place for inspiration, for cultural materials. We have a long admiration for the work of Gabriela." The team added, "Woven Kitchen transforms these cultural threads into a sensory experience of sculptural lighting, experimental cuisine, and an exhibition that documents the creative dialogue behind this collaboration."
