Melting Rubik's Cubes

Geometric Hand Illustrations by Daniel Stolle Plays with Finger Paint

Finland-based illustrator Daniel Stolle creates a collection of illustrations depicting a melting Rubik's Cube that eventually turns into finger paint. The images show a sequence of liquification, as the cube eventually turns into globs of bright colors like fuchsia, turquoise and yellow.

Stolle's work usually comprises of a darkly shaded subject surrounded by a burst of chromatic dyes that enhance the art work. Strong contrast is evident in the series and most of the artist's work, with dark and light colors side by side. His work also seems to favor hands, which is also evident in his 2010 illustrations titled 'Agent Orange.'

Daniel Stolle graduated as an industrial designer and has been working as an illustrator since 2007.
