Daniel Sher has come up with a series of objects that aim to bring people in long distance relationships closer together. However, it was extremely important that the pieces did not try and exactly imitate certain senses like touch and feel, with the worry that these could never truly be replicated.
Instead, the designer has come up with certain objects that are meant to evoke emotions. For example, one design can be held by a person up to their heart, and this heartbeat can be heard and felt by the person on the receiving end. It's things such as this that can bring loved ones closer together, regardless of where they are. While it's not exactly the same as holding someone close, it helps to provide intimacy in a new way.
