Newborn Mermaid Exhibits

Daniel Kyong Presents Aquatic Baby Sculptures at Moonshin Museum

Even the most jaded of people will be caught off guard by the sculptures in this Daniel Kyong exhibit. After all, it’s not often that you see realistic baby mermaid sculptures suspended from the roof to give the impression that they’re floating in the air. If that sounded bizarre, wait until you see the images for yourself.

Titled ‘New Baby Born,’ Daniel Kyong crafted multiple glossy human-fish hybrids and hung them in abstract manners to create the illusion that they’re swimming through air. Images of mermaids also surround the room ‘New Baby Born’ is presented in, giving audiences a surreal underwater experience immersed with fictional creatures. The craftsmanship of each doll is so superb that I’m tempted to look at the babies’ tail fins for hours on end.
