REI Co-Op, the Seattle-based consumer co-operative, announced a new series of accessible electric bicycles titled the 'Cycles Generation.' The Cycles Generation features two models, the E1.1 and the E1.2. Both models feature an accessible, open-bar design that is easy to hop on whether the rider is wearing a suit or athletic shorts. The e-bikes are available in a range of colors and feature a one-size-fits-all motto.
The Cycles Generation E1.1 boasts a 40-mile battery range and a pedal-assisted top speed of 20mph. The E1.2 model, on the other hand, boasts a range of 50 miles per charge. Aside from this, the bicycles differ in their suspension quality and storage capabilities, with the E1.2 beating the E1.1 in both categories.
The E1.1 has an MSRP of $1,499.00 USD, while the E1.2 retails for $1,899.00 USD. It is important to note, though, that members of the REI Co-Op will have priority access to purchase these bicycles beginning now, while general consumers will be able to purchase one beginning September 1st, 2022.
