The Cut Piece Collection is made up of organic kitchen accessories inspired by the leftover bits of vegetables. From the skin of onions to the cores of apples and even the stems of cherries, these produce pieces are given a second chance at life. At least, casts of them are.
Designed by Kurasuhito Kurasutokoro and Yusuke Komatsu, the Cut Piece Collection is surprisingly practical and versatile. For instance, the onion peels can be used for as chopstick holders as well as a mat for hot kettles and pots. Psfk writes, "Like the original organic leftovers, the cast objects which don’t have a finish coating will develop their own patina and age over time." Yet their golden hue does set them apart from the real deal.
