Architects Lloyd Russell and 'Surfside Projects' designed a home with a curvilinear roofline.
The house is made up of three pavilions that share a sloping roof. Each pavilion faces inwards to provide the home with privacy from the front and sides. From the backyard and kitchen, one can see the giant semi-circle that distinguishes the roofline. The home was inspired by the Los Angeles' Case Study Houses and Eichler’s mid-century modern designs.
The facade of the house features sharp, angular lines and industrial materials. This contrasts the curvilinear roofline seen from back of the house. A bright yellow front door adds interest to the neutral materials used in the front of the building. For the interior, the wooded ceiling extends to the edge of the roofline, giving a continuous sightline that blends indoor-outdoor living.
