Louis Vuitton released its latest "Crochet Leather Overshirt" jacket as part of its Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The luxury brand's design team made the jacket as a tribute to the late Virgil Abloh, who was the head of the menswear division at Louis Vuitton.
Regarding the design of the jacket, the inspiration is derived from chore coat aesthetics. The jacket also consists of a four-pocket chest, button closure, and wide collar. As for the material of the jacket, it is made of black calf leather from the chest and the top third of the sleeves. The main highlight of the jacket is that the sleeves are covered with multi-colored hand-crocheted patches that appear to be in Louis Vuitton's signature monogram flower print. Additionally, there is a hand-crocheted patch in the appearance of a large flower placed on the left shoulder next to the jacket's collar. The jacket is only available by order through contact to Louis Vuitton for $37,000.
