Hamburger Cakes

The Whopper Wedding Burger

Fast food junkies, Tom and Kerry Watts, celebrated their marriage with their dream wedding cake - a 42 pound, half a meter wide hamburger.

The gigantic burger weighed the equivalent of around 100 quarter pounders. Uncooked, the giant burger weighed 400 oz, and it took butcher, John Baxter, a whole day to create and shape it.

The burger had to be cooked for three hours, and it required three chefs to lift it out of the oven before it could be put into the custom made bun.

The bun alone weighed 5kg and staff had to use a saw to cut it in half.

The contents of the burger included 12 iceberg lettuces, 30 tomatoes, 12 onions, 48 slices of dill pickle, 2kg of cheese, a litre of mayonnaise and a litre of ketchup.
