Coveris is releasing a new recyclable thermoforming film intended to benefit medical devices. Dubbed Formpeel P, this film is designed to be a sustainable alternative for packaging that withstands ethylene oxide, plasma, and gamma sterilization. Alongside this, the brand's Cleerpeel solution is expected to facilitate the sterile extraction of medical products, ensuring optimal protection and ease of use, all while prioritizing sustainable resources.
"The game-changing waste repurposing process is closing the loop by using a highly effective de-inking and mechanical recycling technology, reusing high-quality feedstock from plastic packaging to produce new packaging material," said Jan-Willem Bruijsten, medical segment director at Coveris.
Coveris will showcase its new medical packaging innovations at the Compamed Convention, which operates through November 16, 2023.
