Hainan Airlines presented its collection of couture-inspired airline uniforms at Paris Fashion Week.
Designed by Laurence Xu, the uniform takes inspiration from the traditional Chinese formalwear look -- Cheongsam. The dresses feature a low, scooped hemline and images of nature in a beautiful blue and white motif. The Cheongsams are accompanied by Western-style gray capes and fitted jackets to complete the outfits. The overall look is sophisticated, elegant and refined, while maintaining cultural relevancy. The couture-inspired airline uniform portrays an elevated brand identity that suggests roots in both Western and Chinese culture.
Laurence Xu is known for presenting designs that reflect his cultural heritage while maintaining a modern aesthetic. He has been presenting at Paris Fashion Week since 2003. According to Hainan Airlines, the design process took two years to complete.
