Valve Announced 'Counter-Strike 2' As a Major CS:GO Update

'Counter-Strike 2' is a sequel to the popular game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). It is set to release in summer 2023 as a free upgrade to CS:GO. Valve has announced a limited beta that is available to select members of the game’s community. The sequel will overhaul every system, piece of content, and part of the game. So far, Valve has released separate trailers for specific mechanics such as smoke grenades, map design, and character mobility options.

The game will start a new era of the game on Valve’s Source 2 engine, which the company promises will mark the "largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike’s history." The upgrade is available in Limited Testing today for some CS:GO players. All of the game’s new features will be revealed when it officially launches this summer.

It is important to note that Counter-Strike 2 will carry over all progress from CS:GO, so players will not lose any of their accrued in-game items and achievements.
