These Cork Headphones are Made from Sustainable Materials

These cork headphones come as an eco-friendly audio accessory that aim to shake up the way in which we think about the essential technology product when it comes to materials and beyond. The headphones are crafted with cork for the ear cups and the headband sliders, which in turn eliminates the need for conventional plastic, glues and screws for the construction. The cork used for the headphones also makes them featherlight with a weight of just 64 grams, while also maintaining a resilient design that won't trigger allergies, keeps moisture at bay and helps insulate sound.

The cork headphones are the design work of Pauline Ariaux and Jacopo Ferrari, and were crafted by Jean Yves Lerate in his Auray, France workshop. The cork material was supplied by Corticeira Amorim, while Ariaux was able to create a fully functioning prototype in just five days at a workshop at Domaine de Boisbuchet led by the Pedrita design duo.
