Carbon Fiber Cleats

Nike Mercurial Vapor Soccer Shoes Feature Super-Light Support

Nike has released their super-fly Mercurial Vapor football cleats. The boot design is based on their flywire design, which was recently seen in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The flywire design was derived from suspension bridges (shown) that aim to support the foot at the key points. This ultimately reduces weight, increases stability and optimizes the use of materials during the manufacturing process.

There are numerous features aside from the strategically placed foot support wires, including a Teijin skin and composite upper, carbon fiber structural support, one-piece heel protection, and a super traction sole.

I can’t wait to try these on; not only are they Nike’s lightest soccer cleat, but they are also super-stylish.
