The Converse Coastal Carnage Art of Board ad takes a look at Kerry Getz' Nocturnal skate shop, located in the downtown Philadelphia, which has developed a unique way of reusing broken skateboard decks instead of sending them to the scrap yard, like they would have been otherwise.
The Converse Coastal Carnage Art of Board ad looks at Rich Moorehead, the creator of the Art of Board studio (based in Hanover, PA), which transforms broken skate decks from trash to decoration, turning the broken boards into mirrors, hat racks, and wall tile, amongst other things.
'I Ride, I Recycle' is a mission aimed at encouraging the skateboarding community in the United States to recycle boards, as the industry is currently without a comprehensive recycling plan. Now, with Coastal Carnage and Converse, RIch Moorehead is creating an interactive keychain assembly, where Moorehead takes his pre-drilled scraps and allows children to make their own keychains at kiosks at skate parks and shows in the PA area.
