Jewelry designer Nicole Akong found inspiration for her Fall/Winter 2011 collection from the travels of famous world conquerors. She took hints from the colorful textiles of South American Andean tribes and clans within eastern European countries.
Using a base of gold- and silver-plated chains, Akong weaves cloth tassels, faux fur, velvet ribbons and cords through the chunky chains to create fashionable necklaces that will surely start conversations. Each piece is handmade and is considered a work of art by fashion insiders.
