J.Byron-H is an architectural designer based in Los Angeles who recently introduced a new range of Concrete stools, exploring unconventional materials in unique structures. He has previously experimented with concrete and glass fiber as well to construct modernistic furniture. This time, the designer draws a strong inspiration from skateboards as well as architectural brutalism and it translates through the stool's form.
The Concrete Stool range is made in three different dimensions -- there is the low stool, high stool, and the bench. All of the designs are crafted using a cast and warped glass-fiber reinforced concrete that's finished in a selection of hues. There are colors including tangerine, lemon, blue raspberry, grape, and bubblegum to recall candy flavors. The mold resembles that of a skateboard deck but is bent to reach its final structure. Notably, every stool is crafted by hand so each piece boasts its own unique tone and finish to elevate its unique quality.
