The Concrete Collection by Matali Crasset, a designer based in Paris, France, is heavy-duty. As though made for a construction site office, each piece is stark and manly. Of course, that is mainly due to the use of cement. Yet there are some blatantly masculine influences for the designs. For instance, the lamp has been modeled after an interwar military listening device.
The Concrete Collection by Matali Crasset was created for Concrete by LCDA, which he recently became the artistic director of French concrete specialist for. It is comprised of three pieces: a lamp, table and bookshelf. According to the collaborators, "This project combines fluidity and the desire to get away from the very common single-piece shapes when concrete furniture is concerned."
