At first glance, the colourSPACE art installation could easily be mistaken for an abstract computer screen saver, the ones that morph in and out of vibrant shapes mesmerizingly. Nevertheless, not only is it static, it is a physical art piece, not a digital one. Made up of 12,000 pencil crayons, the colourSPACE art installation will boggle people's minds.
Created by blackLAB Architects, the colourSPACE art installation was painstakingly put together to create a visually striking gradient comprised of 25 different colors. Each pencil was securely pegged to a large perforated wooden board. Measuring an impressive 14 feet by six feet, it was created as part of an exhibit at the Interior Design Show in Toronto, Canada.
