COIR is a mobile cart and public space, crafted from tropical coconuts, that was put together by students and professors from the International Program in Design and Architecture at Chulalongkorn University in the Thai capital Bangkok. A team of 16 students, led by professors Cheryl Wing-Zi Wong and Dev Harlan, put together the project to explore tropical coconuts' versatility.
The COIR food cart was designed with the objective of maintaining a closed-loop sustainable cycle while producing zero waste.
In its compressed state, the COIR stall can be used to move goods through urban streets. Its extended state expands into a long table, and its stools and chairs can be pulled out. The cart also contains two shading devices that can shield from sun and rain alike. Photo Credits: designboom, cw-zw
