Intelligent Robo Cleaners (UPDATE)

Remotely Activate the Cocorobo Vacuum via Smartphones

Sharp has updated one of its popular robotic cleaners, the Cocorobo vacuum, adding multiple new functions including remote control programming via smartphones.

Other than having shrunk in size by almost five centimeters in diameter from the previous model, the Cocorobo vacuum now includes a navigation function that allows users to create a layout of the floor plan so it can be specified to the vacuum where it should clean. The user can also activate the device as well as control it when they are not home. Not only has Sharp increased the sensitivity of the robot cleaner to be able to pick up dirt in tiny crevices, its smartphone app can also control a wide range of the company's household products including air conditioners, LED lights and fans. The updated model of Cocorobo will be on sale December 13, 2012.
