The Connected Cleat shoe is a newly designed piece of athletic footwear that aims to monitor athletic performance using a bevy of sensors that are embedded into the sole of the shoe.
Designed by Trevor Timson, the Connected Cleat works to keep track of the various data points that are captured during the athletic endeavor. This includes monitoring distance traveled, sprinting as well as measuring cuts and power. The sensor within the Connected Cleat can be removed to read the data and record the various performance points to see how a player is performing on a more specific scale.
The Connected Cleat shoe identifies how fitness trackers could be made obsolete by implementing the technology they feature into athletic gear for a more precise way of measuring performance.
