Ukrainian art director Alexey Kondakov takes classic art pieces and places them in current day urban locations. An image of a nude figure playing the harp is placed in an underground subway station and two wealthy elite men with heavy fur coats are seated in a dive bar. In a delightful way, all of the modernized classic art pieces look as if they belong in their new settings.
It is a strange and beautiful way to present and reintroduce people to historic pieces of art. Kondakov used Photoshop to completely altered the reality of the people in these paintings.
The use of uncleanly transportation and strange unpopular bars and cafes creates an extremely cohesive connection between the locations and the emotionless faces of the people in the paintings.
