As incredible as Central Park is in New York City, residents are constantly wishing it were bigger and better. To address this wishful thinking, this year's Evolo Skyscraper Competition revolved around the challenge of accomplishing just that. The first prize winner came up with a brilliant idea that is not only creative but quite simple as well.
Designers Yitan Sun and Jianshi Wu came up with a city park concept that focused on the merits of mirroring the green space to make it appear larger. How did they imagine it? With large mirrors placed around the perimeter of Central Park. Interestingly enough, the addition of mirrors also makes the surrounding skyscrapers look as though they are farther away, opening up the skyline even more. No wonder they were awarded first place.
