Toronto design studio MJMA Architecture & Design is the mind behind the new Churchill Meadows Community Center and Sports Park. It is a design project in Mississauga, Ontario and it has converted a large agricultural field into a parkland. The park is defined by its timber columns and mesh facade, which has been designed with the intent to reflect 'a screen of trees.'
The studio shares, "The community centre is integrated with the surrounding landscape both programmatically and formally – together, building and park comprise a vital hub for leisure, sport, and recreation. The building is set diagonally with respect to the urban grid and with its four elevations facing each cardinal direction, like a compass, to organise the amenities within the park."
