Geometric Sand-Casted Tables

Anna Karlin and Fernando Mastrangelo Created the Chunk Series

New York designers Anna Karlin and Fernando Mastrangelo joined forces in designing a limited-edition set of tables entitled the Chunk Series. The Chunk tables blend the design aesthetics of both collaborators, with an infusion of Karlin's geometric structures and the sand-casting techniques and pastel hues often used by Mastrangelo. The series is comprised of five table designs in total, with each boasting a unique totem-like formation and a gradient, varied surface top. All of the pieces range in size and foundation, functioning as small side tables to large dining tables.

Mastrangelo took on Karlin's design concepts and constructed them with a material blend of salt, quartz, glass and silica -- instead of the usual materials that Karlin uses, which are wood, steel and brass.
