Tattoo Artist-Articulated Sneakers

Dr. Woo and Converse Created Spider-Embroidered Chuck 70s

Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Dr. Woo collaborated with the iconic sneaker brand Converse to craft the newest version of the classic Converse Chuck 70s in two different colors. "I wanted something clean and not obvious or expected of me," Woo stated about the Converse collaboration. As an act of rebellion, the artist developed an interest towards tattoos at a young age, and has grown a highly recognized following of celebrities since then. Announcing that he would like to broaden his works creatively by altering day-to-day objects that show a sense of his aesthetics, Dr. Woo's collaboration with Converse is his first step towards creating art outside the world of tattoos.

Dr. Woo believes that there is a personalized touch to each shoe, as Chucks tend to be drawn on and scuffed up with stains and patina. These Chuck 70s have a spider embroidery and eyes that recall Woo's logo. The designs he crafts will develop a natural staining on the spider embroidery with wear. The shoes are made with a "hyper-limited leather," tattoos, numbers and are signed by Woo himself. The collaborative Chuck 70s will be exclusively released at Maxfield in Los Angeles.
