Perhaps the most anticipated show of Paris Fashion Week this season was the Christian Dior Spring 2012 presentation, and luckily, it did not disappoint. As many of you diehard Dior fans (like myself) and fashionistas may recall, last season's Dior Haute Couture show was nothing short of an absolute disaster. Designer Bill Gaytten, who had worked under John Galliano for years, took over the collection after Galliano was fired, and produced a show that boggled the minds of critics with its inconsistent and incoherent nature.
However, the Christian Dior Spring 2012 collection luckily did not suffer the same fate. The collection was pleasantly surprising. Stunning sheer evening dresses closed the show (my favorite being the gorgeous nude ruffled maxi dress that was cinched at the waist. The collection was made up of a combination of great daytime skirts and blouses, as well as breathtaking evening gowns that looked as light as air.
The only question left is who will be permanently taking over for John Galliano? The rumor mill says Marc Jacobs, and I can only keep my fingers crossed that these rumors are true.
